Buying from GovPlanet/IronPlanet is not like eBay. You are buying "As Is" and responsible for removal.
EUC (End User Certificate): Many military items (Humvees, tents, optics) require a background check (EUC). This can take 6-12 weeks to clear. You cannot pick up the item until it clears.
2. Understanding LTL Freight
If an item is over 150 lbs, UPS won't take it. You need LTL (Less Than Truckload).
The Pallet Rule: Truckers will NOT touch loose items. The item must be strapped to a pallet and shrink-wrapped before they arrive. GovPlanet usually charges $50+ to do this for you.
3. Hidden Costs
- Liftgate Fee ($50-$100): If you are delivering to your house and don't have a forklift, you MUST request a "Liftgate" truck, or the driver will refuse to unload.
- Residential Fee ($75+): Freight companies charge extra to drive into neighborhoods vs commercial docks.
